Bridging Theory and Practice: UACS Accounting Students Gaining Hands-On Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP

At the start of the fall 2024 semester, undergraduate students in the Financial Accounting course, under the guidance of Professor Dusica S Srbinoska and Teodora Kochovska, were introduced to Oracle NetSuite ERP. During their two-week stay at Marand Consultants’ headquarters in Skopje, the students worked in teams to explore the accounting cycle for service and merchandising entities.

By working in Oracle NetSuite ERP, students gained first-hand experience that enhanced their understanding of key financial processes in a real-world, digitized environment. Students effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice by navigating the system’s integrated modules for accounting, financial reporting, and business management.

This hands-on exposure to an industry-leading ERP platform equips them with the technical skills and insights necessary to thrive in today’s data-driven workplace. With businesses increasingly relying on digital tools for financial operations, SBEM students are better prepared for future careers, standing out for their ability to apply accounting concepts within cutting-edge software environments.

We greatly appreciated the opportunity given to our students, which was a direct benefit of UACS’s membership in the educational program Oracle Academy. Through the program, UACS’s educators and students have access to Oracle’s leading technologies and cloud services, as well as to educational material that focuses, among others, on Java, databases, cloud, ERP, applications’ development and AI, and have the opportunity to get their first professional certifications, as well as learn from experienced professionals and participate in joint initiatives, like this one, where the students get to work in a real-life setting outside the classroom.
