World Bank Economic Report Presented at UACS
The University American College Skopje recently hosted an insightful presentation of the World Bank Economic Report, Fall 2024: Better Education for Stronger Growth. Delivered by Ivailo Izvorski, Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank, and Ivan Torre, Senior Economist in the same office, organized by Prof. Dr Marjan Petreski. The event shed light on key economic challenges and opportunities for the Europe and Central Asia region.
The report highlights the need for reforms to unlock the creative potential of people and capital, with a special emphasis on improving higher education systems to drive growth. While economic activity has stabilized after a period of crises, the region still faces a significant gap in income levels compared to high-income countries.
Students and faculty at UACS had the unique opportunity to engage with this important discussion and explore actionable pathways for stronger growth through better education policies.
