Prof. Dodovski elected as President of Eurodram
Prof. Dr. Ivan Dodovski has been elected as President of Eurodram – the European Network for Drama in Translation.
This international organization includes more than 300 members – theater scholars, critics, playwrights, translators, and directors – organized into 30 language committees. The main goal of the network is to encourage the translation and performance of contemporary plays from Europe, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean, making them accessible to theater professionals and audiences, in the spirit of independence, equality, and linguistic diversity.
Ivan Dodovski is a full professor of critical theory and comparative literature at University American College Skopje. He is the author of four poetry books, a collection of short stories, and numerous studies in the fields of literature and theater. For his research work, he has received the ‘Heymann’ and ‘Gertrude Cropper’ awards from the University of Nottingham, England. For his book Small Folio for Theater (2018) he was awarded the ‘4th November’ prize, and for the book Macedonia’s Long Transition (2023), co-edited with the British historian Robert Hudson and published by the London publisher Palgrave Macmillan, he received the ‘Goce Delchev’ state award for science. As a guest lecturer, he has given lectures at universities in Melbourne, Derby, Glasgow, Nitra, Jena, and Budapest.
