Announcement for UACS measures aimed at tackling the current situation with the air pollution in the City of Skopje
Dear All,
Within the framework of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices and the continuous care for the well-being of our students, employees and citizens of the City of Skopje and the Republic of Macedonia, we would like to inform you that the University American College Skopje (UACS) will undertake the following activities aimed at coping with the current air pollution situation in our City.
- The classes for the first, second and third cycle of studies will be held in accordance with the Academic Calendar for 2017/2018 and the class schedule for the fall semester.
- Air purifiers, aimed for removing the contaminants from the air (PM particles and other chemicals), as well as reduction of bacteria and viruses will be placed inside the University premises.
- Natural air purifiers (greenleaf plants) will be placed in every room and office.
- Medical face masks will be placed at UACS Front Desk (3rd floor).
- The absence from classes will be ‘Justified’ to students with a chronic health condition.
- It is recommended that our students and employees car-pool (share transport vehicles) to and from UACS, in order to contribute towards reduction of the air pollution particles.
It is recommended that these measures are implemented for the duration of the high pollution state of the air in Skopje.
