Asst. Prof. Dr. Venera Krliu Handjiski honored with the ‘Mother Theresa’ Award for 2017
On 26 August 2017, at 12:00 h, in the Hall of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, the ceremony on the occasion of awarding the ‘Mother Theresa’ Award for the year of 2017 was held.
Every year, the ‘Mother Theresa’ state award is traditionally bestowed for outstanding achievements of state interest in the field of humanity and human solidarity, and for encouraging, promoting mutual understanding and development of cooperation, both – between nations, and among the members of different communities, cultures and religions.
The ‘Mother Theresa’ Award Committee bestowed the awards to this year’s winners: Mr. Milivoje Jankovski and Prof. Dr. Venera Krliu Handjiski, Vice-Rector for Education, UACS Assistant professor and Vice-President of the Managing Board at University American College Skopje.
In his official address at the ceremony, the President of the Board for awarding the ‘Mother Theresa’ state award, Prof. Dr. Marko Kitevski, stressed that the goodness should be celebrated by all, and therefore, we should celebrate the great Mother Theresa, for her countless charity activities.
Then, Mr. Kitevski solemnly honored the state award ‘Mother Theresa’ for the year of 2017 to this year’s winners.
On behalf of both of the award winners, during his short speech, Mr. Milivoje Jankovski, expressed his gratitude for the honor.
The award winner, Asst. Prof. Venera Krliu Handjiski, PhD, is especially honored to receive this high recognition, a large portion of which is also the merit of the students and employees of University American College Skopje. They unselfishly contributed for the organization and implementation of the charity activities and projects. In terms of continuing her charity, she will devote herself towards helping and providing better life and education to the powerless, poor and sick people, socially deprived families, as well as solidarity and respect for the diversity of nations.
