CEEPUS Activities at UACS
Mobility Opportunities for UACS faculty, PhD candidates and students within the CEEPUS Program
University American College Skopje is dedicated to offering mobility opportunities for its academic staff, PhD candidates and graduate and undergraduate students. It is one of the best ways to develop, grow, and learn. UACS has been part of the CEEPUS Program since 2015. CEEPUS is a Central European Exchange Program for University Studies which offers short and long mobility opportunities between 15 member states (Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Kosovo) and their universities. Since 2015 UACS has completed a total of approx. 30 mobilitites
From the 29-30 September 2021, UACS CEEPUS Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Trajanoska participated in the online Summer Academy of the Transcultural Communication and Translation Network held in Belgrade, Serbia. She talked about the importance of the intercultural communicative competence for translation students and presented a case study on how ICC is developed in the curriculum of the Business Communication and Translation concentration at UACS School of Foreign Languages.
UACS School of Foreign Languages has been part of the Transcultural Communication and Translation Network for six years. In spring 2022 three students from the SFL will be spending a month at the Zentrum für Translationswissenschaft – Center for Translation Studies Vienna (University of Vienna) and at University of Tuzla.
UACS School of Political Science has also become a part of a CEEPUS network i.e. the Border and Regional Studies Network and will offer network mobilitites to its faculty and students. All UACS students and academic staff are eligible for a freemover mobility in any of the universities within the CEEPUS Program.
UACS CEEPUS Coordinator Prof. Trajanoska held two info sessions on how to apply for a mobility grant this month, one for UACS students on 8 October and another one for the faculty and PhD candidates on 15 October 2021.
