Commemorative session in honor of prof. Ninko Kostovski, PhD

A commemorative session was held today at 10:00 a.m. in honor of our dear professor and friend, prof. Ninko Kostovski, PhD.

In the presence of his nearest family, his closest colleagues and friends, the rector held speech in remembrance of this great and honorable man, who’s untimely passing is mourned by many.

His dear friend and collegue prof. Tome Nenovski,PhD and the Dean of the School of Business Economics and Management, prof. Snezhana Hristova, PhD, also spoke about the privilege of knowing such a remarkable man, an esteemed professor and above all else, a good and incredibly charismatic human being.

The wonderful memories that were shared, along with some anecdotes and sincere words relived the moments that everyone had shared with our dear and beloved professor.

At the end of the ceremony, the Memory Book was passed on to his family in honor of his memory for years to come.

Prof. Ninko Kostovski, PhD was born on 26 November 1956 in Tetovo. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degree at the Faculty of Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He holds a PhD degree in the field of Business and Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University’s Institute of Economics. As an Alumni of the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, USA and the University of Wisconsin, USA, he obtained Graduate certificates for Management and Finance.

Prof. Ninko Kostovski, PhD was one of the first professors in Macedonia who was part of the European Forum for Entrepreneurship Research (EFER) programme. As an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he was certified for implementation of the Participant-Centered Learning method in the teaching process. His career in the academic community began in the year of 2005, when he was elected as a faculty member at the newly established School of Business Economics and Management at the University American College Skopje, during the session held on 26 December 2005. At the constitutive session of the Scientific Council of the School of Business Economics and Management on 13 January 2006, he was elected as the Head of the Management Department. In the period from 2006 to 2008, he served as Dean of the UACS School of Business Economics and Management.

His fields of academic and research interest include management and entrepreneurship, competitiveness and industrial agglomeration, project management, management of information technology and information systems. The large number of published scientific research papers and books witness his success in the academia.

Our students had the opportunity to learn from a great person with a unique sense of humor and an inexhaustible source of knowledge. He managed to change the lives of his colleagues with his experience, knowledge and, above all, his charisma.
