BA in PsychologyThis course examines the biological bases of behaviour and learning through the lifespan of a person. It addresses the fundamentals of neuroanatomy, brain development, neuropsychology, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, psychopharmacology and how they are related to human behaviour. Interactions between genes, brain, environment and lifestyle will be covered including how these impacts on brain development, learning and memory, and mental health. This knowledge will help understand brain maturation, and developmental conditions such as learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactive diseases and autistic spectrum disorder, mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and psychosis, as well as age-associated mental health problems, including different types of dementia.
