Human development is an interesting phenomenon that starts from conception and lasts throughout the lifespan. The development is especially fast and amazing in the first stages of life. This course will offer an introduction to the basic principles of physical, cognitive, social and emotional development during childhood and adolescence. Using a scientific and topical approach to studying development the students will be engaged in a number of discussion, theoretical and applied assignments through which they will investigate major theories of development as well as the interaction of the factors shaping human development in childhood and adolescence.
