Performance and Compensation Management

Performance and Compensation Management is a course in the Human Resources Management Masters Program. The course focuses on the advancement of knowledge regarding performance management practices and the compensation and reward systems. This course critically deals with the issue of effective management of human resources as basis for the success and competitiveness of enterprises and organizations.  Performance Management as the method used to measure and improve the effectiveness of people in the workplace is dealt with as a cycle starting with goal setting, tracking changes, coaching, motivation, appraisal and employee development. Special attention is placed on practical examples of performance appraisal and how this relates to reward systems in organizations, including the 360 degree feedback, measuring team performance and improving the reward system.  The topics include the pay and benefits system and payment methodologies.
