Demos Helsinki as guest in the MA Workshop Strategic Foresight (School of Political Science)
Today (20.10.2022), within the Strategic Foresight Workshop led by Assoc. Prof. Marina Andeva (in the MA academic progeramme in International Relations and Diplomacy) the students had a chance to hear more about the applicability of foresight methods by a senior expert Joao Sigora from the global think tank Demos Helsinki. We thank this prominent think tank for cooperating with the School of Political Science and transmitting their expertise and knowledge in the field to our students.
Joao Sigora is a senior expert at global think tank Demos Helsinki. His expertise lies in experimentation, foresight and new forms of policymaking. A former civil servant in Brazil, Joao has several years of experience advising senior public officials and managing cross-government teams in projects combining a wide range of innovative methodologies to deliver better public services. Immediately prior to joining Demos, he coordinated the Brazilian government’s pioneer innovation lab, GNova, where he helped transform a newly founded innovation lab into a Global Public Service Team of the Year, as acknowledged by Apolitical’s Global Public Service Awards. João was also a visiting researcher at the e-Governance Academy in Estonia and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford.
