Dr. Sara Nazari – Guest Speaker at the UACS School of Foreign Languages
On 13 Nov 2024, the Advanced Business Communication graduate course students and their instructor, Prof Dr Marjana Vaneva, were online hosts to their guest speaker, Dr. Sara Nazari.
Dr Nazari holds a BA in German studies, and a PhD in Intercultural German studies (Interkulturelle Germanistik) from Universität Bayreuth, Germany. She has been a German tutor at the University of Oxford, and a university lecturer at the University of Surrey, UK, where Prof Vaneva is a Visiting Researcher.
Born in Iran and now based in Dubai, Dr. Nazari has lived, studied, and worked in three different countries in between these two, that is, after Iran, she experienced life in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland before coming to the United Arab Emirates. As a university lecturer and a speaker with a specialization in intercultural foreign language education and intercultural communication for business and marketing purposes, she helps individuals understand and embrace cultural differences and enables them to communicate effectively across cultures to achieve greater success in their personal and professional lives.
It was a fruitful event both for Sara as well as for our university’s students, since for Sara guesting on the topic of Intercultural Communication meant sharing her expertise and showing her competence, while for the students it was a truly practical enrichment of their course, both personally and professionally.
