Location: At premises of University American College Skopje and WEBEX platform
The EduHack will be a 48 hour sprint event where you will be given the chance to address an issue around encouraging more Entrepreneurial University. You and your team will have to consider and explore higher education opportunities to become more entrepreneurial and come up with a new product or service either locally, nationally or internationally. A primary requirement is that the solution must encourage a more entrepreneurial approach within higher education institutions. Teams of 2-5 students will do idea crowdsourcing and recommend new innovative methodology/approach. Their concepts will be based on HEI’s innovative methodology (www.heinnovate.eu). Higher Education Institutions that want to investigate their creative potential can use HEInnovate as a self-reflection tool. It leads through a series of steps from brainstorming to collecting and selecting problems and preparing solutions of the problems. It is not intended to be used as a benchmarking tool, but rather to identify areas of strength and weakness, facilitating discussion and debate about the entrepreneurial nature within higher educational institutions.
Challenge Themes
Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning–Exploring creative teaching approaches and developing ways to inspire entrepreneurial attitudes are all part of entrepreneurial teaching and learning. Learning about entrepreneurship; is not sufficient but being exposed to entrepreneurial experiences is essential to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets.
Digital Transformation and Capability–Digital technologies are already being used by HEIs, however the rate of adoption and integration differs between and within institutions. HEIs should seize the opportunities afforded by digital transformation and view digital technologies as a critical facilitator. The self-assessment has a variety of statements that can be used to reflect on a HEI’s digital competence, which is described as the ability to integrate, optimize, and transform digital technologies in order to stimulate the entrepreneurial activities.
The Internationalised Institutions–Internationalization is a vehicle for change and improvement, not an end in itself. It promotes new ways of thinking, challenges standard teaching techniques, and includes external stakeholders in governance and administration. As a result, it is inextricably related to being entrepreneurial. Without being international, an HEI cannot nurture entrepreneurship.
