International Teaching Week – SBEM  

The School of Business Economics and Management (SBEM) presents the first edition of its “International Teaching Week” event, “Multicultural understanding – Are you ready for going Global? 

During the weeks 18 to 22 November 2019 (Fall semester), UACS School of Business Economics and Management (SBEM) welcomes academics from around the world, from international universities. This will be a week of lectures held by academics from other countries with the objective to offer students an international learning opportunity.

Kimberly A. Parker,
University of Kentucky, USA

Kimberly A. Parker, (Ph.D., 2004, University of Oklahoma) is an Associate Professor in the College of Communication and Information at the University of Kentucky. She studies strategic communication, social marketing and social influence (persuasion and resistance). Her scholarship has appeared in numerous presentations (five top paper awards), book chapters, and journal publications, such as Communication MonographsJournal of Communication, Human Communication ResearchJournal of Public Relations ResearchCommunication Quarterly, Communication Research Reports, and Health Communication, among other journals. In addition, Dr. Parker has over 20 years’ experience working with non-profits in the area of social change campaigns.

Paola Vola,
University of Eastern Piedmont, Italy

Paola Vola, is a researcher in Business Administration at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Italy. Her main research topics concern Managerial Accounting, Cost Management, Strategic Planning and Family Business. She was the chair of tracks “Managerialization and professionalization in SMEs and family businesses” (EURAM 2017 and 2018); . She has been involved as reviewer in various academic associations, such as IFERA- International Family Enterprises Research Academy- and FERC – Family Enterprise Research Conference. Her main research interests and publications concern strategic planning tools, managerialization and professionalization of family business, and the role of CFO.

Bobi Ivanov,
University of Kentucky, USA

Bobi Ivanov (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma) is Professor of Integrated Strategic Communication in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication at the University of Kentucky. He studies strategic message design, consumer behavior, and strategic communications. He has primarily taught marketing, communication, research, and strategic communication related courses in number of different departments/units. His main research interests concern social influence (persuasion and resistance) and message design, processing, and retention. Ivanov’s theoretical work focuses on the study of inoculation theory, images, and attitudes and their composition, hierarchical structure, and function as applied in various contexts including commercial, health, intercultural, instructional/educational, interpersonal, political, and risk/crisis management.
