Participation at the 11th International Summer Academy and Conference of the CEEPUS Network

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Trajanoska participated at the 11th International Summer Academy and Conference of the CEEPUS Network for Transcultural Communication and Translation which took place from 8-15 September at the University in Maribor, Slovenia.

Academic faculty and students from Adam Micklewicz University in Poznan (Poland), Politehnica University of Timisoara (Romania), University of Novi Sad and University of Belgrade (Serbia), University of Economics in Bratislava (Slovakia), University of Zagreb, University of Zadar, and University of Rijeka (Croatia), University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), University of Montenegro (Montenegro), University of Ljubljana and University of Maribor (Slovenia) participated in the Summer Academy.

UACS students Yaroslava Nesysiuk and Sanja Stankovikj from the School of Foreign Languages received CEEPUS scholarships and attended the Academy. They had the unique opportunity to meet with fellow students from the region and participate in translation workshops organised and conducted by experienced translators and language experts from the European Parliament. They also had the chance to meet Mr. Valter Mavric, Director General of DG TRAD (European Parliament), and learn about the possibilities for employment and internship in this institution.

Prof. Trajanoska held a lecture on literary translation titled From a Source Text to a Published Novel: Challenges and pitfalls in the digital era.

Each year, the CEEPUS Network Transcultural Communication and Translation offers scholarships to UACS students from the School of Foreign Languages to attend this important event in Eastern-European translation studies. We encourage all interested students to contact Prof. Trajanoska, the CEEPUS Coordinator for the UACS and the Network, to get informed about the application process.
