UACS School of Foreign Languages hosted Dr. Claudia Stoian
UACS School of Foreign Languages hosted Dr. Claudia Stoian from Politehnica University of Timișoara, Faculty of Communication Science from 23-29 October 2016 within the mobility program for academic staff of the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS) and its Transcultural Communication and Translation Network.
Dr. Stoian held a guest lecture in the field of contrastive analysis within the course of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marjana Vaneva and visited the classes of the Intercultural Communication and Global Understanding Course (Global Partners in Education Program, East Carolina University USA) of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ivana Trajanoska, gladly participating in the video conference link with Universidad Continental in Peru.
She also held a public guest lecture on 26 October 2016 on the importance of discourse analysis in translation and teaching in English. The graduate students from the UACS School of Foreign Languages had also the opportunity to have her as their instructor of the Discourse Analysis course.
Dr Claudia Stoian is an Assistant Professor at the Politehnica University of Timișoara. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University Autonoma of Madrid, Spain. She has published several papers on discourse analysis and cultural differences and a book titled The Discourse of Tourism and National Heritage.
