Guest lecture by Van Lanschot Kempen at SBEM

On May 8th, the students from the School of Business Economics and Management had the privilege to get acquainted with Van Lanschot Kempen, an independent wealth manager that provides private banking, investment management, and investment banking services to wealthy individuals and institutions as well as services to pension funds. Dating back to 1737, it is the oldest independent financial institution in the Netherlands, and one of the oldest independent financial institutions in the world, with AuM €112.8 billion as of the end of the first quarter of 2023.

Our eminent guests Maarten Edixhoven, Chair of the Management Board, and Michiel Meeuwissen, Managing Director for Van Lanschot Kempen’s Manager Research Solutions team, inspired and challenged our students to reassess the financial services landscape in South East Europe. The session was hosted by Prof. Dusica Stevcevska Srbinoska and Prof. Igor Srbinoski. During the lecture, SBEM students had the opportunity to learn about the history, client groups, strategies and perspectives, ESG model, and investment portfolio of Van Lanschot Kempen, through elaboration on two investment case studies.
