WHO ARE WE

The School of Business Economics and Management at University American College Skopje is the only internationally accredited school in the Republic of North Macedonia. It has been ranked 4 years in a row as the best school of business and economics in the country, by IDEAS REPEC and is also ranked as No1 private university in North Macedonia according to the Jiao Tong ARWU Ranking.

The School of Business Economics and Management brings together excellent teaching staff, with a student/teacher ratio of 18:1 and applies the Harvard Business School learning methods. With over 30 faculty members whose knowledge and experience is unparalleled, SBEM provides students a unique exposure to both theoretical and practical topics, offering them an exclusive opportunity to learn from the best academic and business minds.

The Audit and Accounting concentration at UACS has been designed upon the model of the UK based global body for professional accountants, the Association of Charted Certified Accountants – ACCA, enabling deeper knowledge of accounting and audit standards.

WHAT DO WE STAND FOR

The Audit and Accounting studies is one of the most significant and most popular concentrations in the UACS undergraduate program. The curriculum has been created under the World Bank project EU REPARIS and is aimed at improving the reporting capabilities of local companies and SME-s.

The ACCA accreditation is exclusive to the Audit and Accounting concentration at UACS and it assures that its students become one of the most sought-after finance professionals in the world. Due to the strategic thinking, technical skills and professional values that these students learn to represent, employers from all over the world are eager to acquire ACCA – trained professionals.

The UACS Audit and Accounting program is the only one in North Macedonia that has 8 of its courses recognized by the ACCA licensing program. Furthermore, the UACS Audit and Accounting curriculum enables the students to prepare for the remaining ACCA modules through the regular program upper-level courses. Moreover, following the conclusion of the ACCA Accelerate Agreement, our students enjoy the privilege of taking the remaining exams needed for the ACCA license at significantly lowered prices compared to other candidates.

OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

At UACS Audit and Accounting, the students work in small groups, resulting in better understanding of the curricula and much greater opportunities for personal development and self-improvement. The students also use Moodle, an online learning platform which is standard in world class education and is used by over 80% of world universities. Moodle provides students 24/7 access to teaching materials, lectures, presentations, templates for projects, etc.

The lectures are conducted in English, using contemporary textbooks and teaching materials from world renowned universities and ACCA approved content providers.

OUR FACULTY

The UACS Audit and Accounting faculty is consisted of professors and associates who are highly dedicated to their students. Focusing on personal talents and affiliations, the professors work closely to bring out each student potential and offer guidance. The students are invited to team work and project work, while also broadening their personal and professional skills.

The faculty also strongly encourages students to become a part of various projects and work practices, whose purpose is to help students establish professional contacts and build up a network of contacts.
