This course is focused on the banking sector issues. Besides theoretical elaboration on the main principles and guiding rules in banking, the banking practice in the market economy is aslo presented. A special attention is given to the banking structure, banking products, services and innovations, risk management, banking supervision and prudental standards for a stable and sound banking system. An overwiev on the last financial crisis and the changes in the regulatory requirements in the banking sector on international level in the post crisis period will be also given. The topics are presented through examples, case studies and discussion on the current developments in the banking worldwide.
