The Course examines corporate governance in its complexity and interdependency, its dynamic nature and continuous interaction with business activities, short, medium and longer-term strategic goals and decisions and ethical standards. It offers a retrospective of the evolution of the main corporate governance institutes, by examining the different governance models developed in different cultural and social settings. The Course provides an insight into the legislation related to corporate governance in different legal systems, and present day implementation & functioning of the principles of corporate governance. General standards of sound corporate governance, such as separation of powers, efficient organization, professional management, equal treatment of all shareholders, transparency and disclosure of information, ethical conduct of business are just few of the topics to be covered.
