Marjan Petreski, PhD

Dr. Marjan Petreski (1982) is the former Vice Rector for Research (2013-2021) at the University American College Skopje and an Associate Professor at the School of Business Economics and Management. He holds a PhD in Economics from Stafforshire University, UK and a post-doc at Hitotshubashi University, Japan. Marjan specializes in research and teaching in applied macro- and development economics. Publishes widely, with 15 papers in journals indexed at the Web of Science and more than 20 at Scopus. Authored 7 international books and 11 chapter in books. Has been awarded the Young Scientist Award 2009 by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Olga Radzyner Award 2010 by the Central Bank of Austria, the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development 2013 by the Government of Japan and GDN, and the CEFTA-LSE Award for best paper on trade. Cooperated on the development agenda with the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, International Labor Organization, UNCTAD, UN Women, European Commission and others. Regularly present in domestic and regional media on economic trends.
