The Academic Advising Center (AAC) coordinates college advising and gives support that provides students at every level with the resources, instruction, and academic support they need to succeed. At each step of student college career, we have a network of academic advisers ready to assist students by helping them stay on academic path. We can also connect students with opportunities for academic exploration within and beyond the traditional classroom setting.

What is Academic Advising(AA)?

Beyond all, Academic Advising (AA) is a relationship. Just as with any other relationship, it takes time to grow. Intention of the relationship is to provide students with support for a superior education, attending to their intellectual growth and to their development as adults committed to high ethical standards and full participation as leaders in their communities. AA utilizes a broad array of advising resources that encourage students to identify and pursue their academic interests and personal goals. From student admittance to graduation, our network of advisors guides students in the discovery of — and engagement with — all the curricular and co-curricular opportunities that SBEM offers.

What is the role of the academic advisor?

Academic advisor is here to help student with degree decisions, course selection, and many other academic decisions. That way, academic advisor can help students select courses that might best suit their needs and life circumstances. Further, advisor is also available to discuss student life and struggles so he/she can get to know student better.
