UACS SFL faculty at a British Council Training

In the period between 28 November 2016 and 2 December 2016, Assoc. Prof. Marjana Vaneva, PhD, Dean of the UACS School of Foreign Languages and Ms. Jovanka Jovancevska-Milenkoska, MA, an English language instructor at UACS attended a Standardising Assessment in Universities training at the British Council, Skopje.

The aim of the training was to make the universities in Macedonia work together towards setting the starting points in standardizing the assessment and raising the level of students’ knowledge.

This week-long workshop was attended by representatives from all English language university departments in Macedonia, who teach Modern English language.
The professors’ joint work has produced two documents: A Writing Samples Booklet and An ETP (English for Teaching Purposes) Scales Booklet, whose use will prospectively level up the English language knowledge of the graduates in Macedonia.

The workshop was held by the consultant Mr. Richard West from the University of Manchester, and was in full compliance with the levels from the Common European Framework of Languages (CEFR).
