UACS Foreign Language students visit American Corner Skopje

On 14 November 2017, the UACS School of Foreign Languages students, within their Introduction to Linguistics class and joined by their course instructor – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marjana Vaneva, visited the premises of American Corner Skopje. The Corner’s staff presented this institution to the students, informed them about the activities they have and the work they do on daily and monthly basis, familiarized them with the Corner’s Resource Centre, which can provide them with books, newspapers, magazines that are of their interest. The literature that the students can find there will help build their reading skills and thus improve their level of English.

In the second part of the visit, the English language students were addressed by the Fulbright scholar Ms Kate Bergum, who is spending this academic year in Macedonia as an English language teaching assistant at the state university in Skopje, teaching Writing to the English language students. The students, their professor and the scholar talked about the English language: its evolution and use nowadays, especially in Macedonia, seen from Ms Bergum’s perspective.
