Guest lecture by the Director of the Bureau for Advocacy of the Republic of Macedonia at the European Court of Human Rights

On 21 March 2017, UACS School of Law students taking the course in International Human Rights with the course instructor, Jelena Ristikj, PhD, had the possibility to follow a guest lecture on “The role of the Bureau for Advocacy of the Republic of Macedonia at the European Court of Human Rights and enforcement of judgments”. The lecture was held by Kostadin Bogdanov, LL.M., Government Agent (representative) and Director of the Bureau for Advocacy of the Republic of Macedonia at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

During the presentation, the advocacy of and the procedure by the Bureau in terms of representation of Republic of Macedonia in proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights was explained in details. Furthermore, the guest lecturer presented the process of enforcements of judgments by the European Court of Human Rights, by providing an overview of specific cases against the Republic of Macedonia for which the Court has made a decision.
