Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Andonov issued the first licenses for mediation mentors

On 6 March 2018, at the premises of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Macedonia, the Dean of UACS School of Law and President of the Board for Establishment, Control and Evaluation of the Quality of Mediation, issued the first licenses for mediation mentors. The licenses were issued to Roza Aleksova, Jelisaveta Georgieva Jovevska, Zoran Vuchev, Ilija Manasiev and Slave Mladenovski.

In our legal system, there are regulations which recognize mediation as an out-of-court dispute resolution method.

According to the accredited programs, the role of mediation mentors is to conduct training for those candidates who they deem to possess the personal characteristics to deal with mediation. The mediation mentors are facing the challenge of making the candidates following the mediation training into neutral individuals who will possess the communication skills and techniques which will encourage the opposing parties in a dispute via negotiations, to recognize the mutual interest for fair settlement of the dispute.

The role of the mediator is to help the opposing parties find a compromise solution, which will include their mutual interests, needs and rights.

More information regarding the issuance of licenses for mediation mentors are available on the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Macedonia, on the following link.
