National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices 2018 for UACS

 

University American College Skopje has been awarded the 2018 National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices plaque and certificate, for the project “Charity Auction of Artwork”, in the category of small and medium enterprises.

The event on the occasion of the 11th awarding of the National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices in 2018 was held today, November 28, 2018, at the Members of the Parliament Club premises. This celebration was organized on part of the Coordinative Body for Corporate Social Responsibility and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Macedonia.

The social responsibility plaque and certificate were bestowed to Ass.Prof. Venera Krliu Handjiski, PhD, Chief Operating Officer and Vice-Rector for Education of UACS, on part of the Minister of Economy, Mr. Kreshnik Bekteshi.

This year, UACS participated in the Open Call for awarding the 2018 National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices with the Charity Auction of Artwork project. The professors, students, employees and friends of the University donated numerous pieces of art, which were presented for auction in front of potential bidders. The funds from the sale were aimed for providing a laboratory centrifuge – one of the essential devices for fast and effective treatment of patients, improvement of the working conditions of the employees and health services at all departments at the PHI Clinic for Pediatric Diseases in Skopje.

UACS considers this special recognition as an incentive for providing a better tomorrow in the society and encouraging the Macedonian enterprises to engage and organize socially responsible practices.

The National Award for Best Socially Responsible Practices is traditionally awarded for eleven consecutive years, with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Macedonia.
